This taco spaghetti couldn't be any easier. Everything is prepared in one pot for very little clean-up and your meal is ready in about 30 minutes. Combining the flavors of taco night with the comfort of spaghetti, this dish is a family-friendly weeknight winner that brings together seasoned ground beef, tomatoes, and pasta in one delicious skillet.
Ingredients
1clove garlic (minced)
1/4cup onion (finely diced)
1lb lean ground beef
1packet taco seasoning (1-oz packet)
1can diced tomatoes (14-oz can, undrained)
2cups water
8oz spaghetti (uncooked)
1cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
2tbsp parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
1
In a very large skillet, add garlic, onions and ground beef. Cook over medium-high heat until ground beef has browned, crumbling the ground beef as you cook it.
Drain out excess fat if desired
2
Sprinkle taco seasoning across the cooked beef. Add entire contents of the canned tomatoes (including the liquid), water and uncooked spaghetti.
Do not drain the tomatoes
3
Bring mixture to a boil. Push spaghetti down so that it is submerged under the liquid. Reduce heat to a simmer and cover skillet.
Make sure spaghetti is fully covered by liquid
4
Cook for about 15 minutes or until spaghetti is cooked, stirring occasionally to ensure everything is well mixed and spaghetti stays submerged.
Stir every 5 minutes
5
When spaghetti is done, remove lid. Cook for about 1 minute with the lid off to reduce down the remaining liquid. Then turn off heat.
Sauce should thicken slightly
6
Sprinkle cheese on top. Cover with lid to allow the cheese to melt (about 2-5 minutes).
Residual heat will melt the cheese
7
Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
